Suing Saudi Arabia for something their citizens did while "legally" in our country is one
of the craziest thing I have ever heard.
This would open America up to lawsuits for things our citizens do
abroad. For example, if John Doe goes to Mexico for a drug run and kills a
bunch of people then it stands to reason Mexico can sue us. Soon lawsuits will run rampant and Americans
with any kind of criminal background will not be allowed to leave because of a
fear that they might cause another lawsuit. People who have even had reckless
or drunk driving charges will not be permitted to leave, because of the fear of
the lawsuits like if an American citizen hit a school bus full of children
while under the influence.
The lawyers and
courts would be tied up for years and the taxpayers would be footing the bill.
Other countries do not have to go through our judicial system and even the
world court cannot enforce their judgements. So, when another country says no,
what do we do then? Oh wait, do we take our money from the tax payers and we
give it to the lawyers to fight a battle that is impossible to win? Do we also
pay these court fees and lawyer fees when another country sues us for what our citizens
did? Well most people voting in this bill were lawyers! I find this very interesting. Don’t you?
